Do you do virtual consults?

Yes, I have a virtual practice. We can communicate through FaceTime, Zoom, or phone calls.

What can I expect from my first consult?

I will conduct an in-depth past medical history and review your primary concerns, diet, and lifestyle to determine how to restore balance in your body. At the end of the visit, I will review nutritional supplementation, dietary suggestions, lifestyle recommendations, and any laboratory testing I recommend to get you well.

Can I interpret your blood work?

Yes. I am trained to interpret blood work and identify imbalances, deficiencies, and toxicities. If you require updated blood work, I can set you up for testing.

Do you work with all diet types?

Yes, I accommodate all dietary preferences - omnivore, vegan, vegetarian, etc.

What is the difference between a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and a Registered Dietician (RD)?

I wrote a blog post on this topic: learn more.

The Certified Nutrition Specialist credential is the Gold Standard for Advanced Nutrition Professionals. A CNS is a highly qualified nutritional professional with an advanced degree (graduate or doctorate) from a fully accredited university in nutrition plus 1,000 hours of a supervised internship and must pass the rigorous exam administered by the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists.

An RD is a food and dietary professional, usually with a 4-year bachelor's degree and 900-1200 hours in a dietetic internship through an accredited program and passing a dietetics registration exam. Dietitians focus on calories (energy), quality of food regarding freshness, sanitation and freedom from spoilage and contamination, meal planning, evaluation of standard measurements of foods, specific diets for certain conditions, and eating patterns based primarily on food groups, such as the food pyramid, and other guidelines based on daily food intake strictly outlined by health organizations.
